Hello!

Lovely to have you here. I’m Iris.

I paint, draw, carve and stamp, cut things up and glue them together.

I am a casual hoarder of books and art supplies, plants and rocks and bones, fun socks, recipes I’ll get around to trying soon, and science knowledge to share with one very keen small child.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband, daughter, cat, and dog. And one tiny shrimp in one of those glass bubble self-contained ecosystems.

History

Before making art my main focus, I studied literature, anthropology and folklore and worked in museums and libraries. In time, I felt the pull to pour more energy into my artwork, and so here I am. I continue to draw inspiration from that past, as well as from the everyday beauties around me, the forests of my youth, the cities of my young adulthood, the kids and the rolling hills that surround me today.
